Description: A new initiative from music therapist Sidharth Pagad and Gary Smith, Three Chorus Meal is a sing-along for all ages as and open day-time activity, held weekly. No experience is required, with the focus on singing together rather than rehearsing towards a performance. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch in order to stay and eat together, a small koha for the venue was collected each week. Music leaders Sid and Gary present accessible songs for the enjoyment of singing, without pressure for participants to commit to every class. Attendees had fun and are keen to come back for future sessions.
Highlights: We generally had between 6 and 9 attendees over this introductory 10 week period, we hope that by continuing the programme numbers will grow. The Waiuku Community Space just beside the library continues to be the venue for this group, drop in on Monday's to participate, no experience necessary, koha kindly accepted.
Feedback:“For me there can be no better way to start the week than by joining in with other locals for an uplifting sing along with Sid and Gary. Their enthusiasm and musical talents create a fun welcoming place for people of various ages and abilities to meet for enjoyment of music and each others’ company”. Val Naylor-Day (Choir Participant)
