Active Arts design and delivery poetry sharing sessions in aged care facilities. They delivered 10 monthly sessions from September 2018 - June 2019.  These sessions were delivered for the Selwyn Centre sessions in Pukekohe. Bringing together approximately 20 older people at each session to engage, connect and ignite creativity and memory through poetry sharing and performance.
“Poetry enthusiasts gather and after introductions and a brief warm-up we sail into a lovely session of poetry, memories and robust discussion about what the poetry has meant to you. We take turns reading either poems provided or favourite poems brought along by participants. There's tea and biscuits and more discussion and a plan made for our next meeting regarding the theme of the poetry and even a request to dress up accordingly! An invigorating and thought provoking session enjoyed by all.” - Active Arts facilitator
