Clevedon Creatives & Co. is a gallery and hub for Clevedon based creatives to sell their work. This series of 3 workshops was initiated as a diversification of the collective, using District Centre premises to offer introductory classes to the public, led by 3 experienced Clevedon artists. Franklin Community Arts enabled a low cost to participants, accessing Franklin Art Centre networks to connect with publics. The success of these workshops has enabled the group to continue workshops on a regular basis.
Highlights: We found all three workshops were very well received from the community. Having sold out within the first three days of advertising on our Clevedon Creatives Facebook page and local grapevine’s. The grant from The Franklin local board allowed us to offer these workshops at an affordable rate, reflected by the quick uptake of workshop places. Attendees were able to participate in workshops without additional costs of buying or bringing their own supplies. The creatives who led the workshops were delighted with the feedback and the whole experience exceeded their expectations, with further demand enabling them to commence ongoing weekly classes.
