In April and May of 2023 the Anglican Parish of Clevedon hosted four Sunday evening concerts at All Souls historic church. This was the third Sanctuary – St James concert series. The principles which undergird Sanctuary – St James are: Opening the intimate and sacred space of an historic church for a concert, Providing concerts of differing musical styles, Engaging high quality musicians to play at a local venue, Paying musicians appropriately, Building community through shared enjoyment of music.
Highlights: The combination of the beauty and intimacy of the church, with the high quality of musicianship on offer created an unforgettable experience for audiences. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many intending to return when we host another season (intended for Spring 2023). Many conversations were struck up between strangers as they met week after week.
Feedback: “An enjoyable four concerts! Thank you. Without fail I always come away with a big smile and a deep sigh of satisfaction. The four folk with me, ranging from 17 to 80 years old just loved the first evening (Twistin’ the Swing). Not to mention my friends who had never been to a ‘classical concert’ ever, overcome with happiness by Jade Quartet’s performance!” – Rob, Third Time Season Ticket Holder
