Description: The arts trail was a free-to-attend event spanning the entire Franklin district. Twenty six independently operated artists’ studios were open to the public for the weekend of 15 and 16 October, online and printed maps enabled the public to local each participating studio.
Highlights: A large number of participating artists were met by a good turnout of public over the weekend, who reported that they ‘thoroughly enjoyed the Arts Trail. Numbers were varied across the region, with some studios having many visitors while the more remote ones being less patronised. Several of the artists reported solid sales of artworks over the arts trail weekend. Thirteen new flags were produced for the event, along with corflute decal signs, re-usable for future arts trails.
Feedback:“All guests were lovely people, very interested and inspired, some good advice for us and great feedback”. Waxeye Studios, Big Bay
“Feedback was that flags and signs were great. And that visiting most artists on the trail takes the entire weekend. A lot of miles to cover”. Jane Crosbie, Pukekohe
