Badjelly the Witch was performed at the Harrington Theatre by Rising Stars. The cast consisted of students of Rising Stars performing songs from the show family, friends and even some of the public. The show was directed by Hayley Va'a, with admin and music support from Sharnie Carlyle, and student teacher Azura McKenzie (Assistant director & choreography).
Proceeds from the show were donated to Onewhero Society of Performing Arts (as thanks for the loan of set and costumes), and Kindness Collective to help children receive Christmas gifts that might not have otherwise been able to.
Highlights: There were many laughs, as children can be very unpredictable but it was very well received by an appreciative audience and we had many compliments from parents of the cast about the positive impact our classes and small production has had on them.
