This project was aimed at 15 - 19 year old Māori men and women (Rangatahi), and the wider community, who are not in school or employment that live in the Franklin area to attend art workshops rich in tikanga and te reo to explore Māori culture with expert guidance by Kaitoi (Māori artists). Participants explored Māori culture as these workshops are rich in tikanga me ona reo. Rangatahi present their art to the public in an exhibition at the Franklin Art Community Gallery during Matariki.
Highlights: Rangatahi resonate: art classes for youth started the series of classes with a wonderful masterclass with Emma Barton who delivered an introduction to song writing and performance tools. Bringing ideas from the page onto the stage was a pleasure to witness.
