Description: The creation of a community kākahu (cloak) is led by Ngāta Te Awa kaumatua from the Tāhuna Marae. The result will be a contemporary piece symbolising the unity and support of the Waiuku community. Feathers are being gathered from members of the community to add to the collection of what the iwi have provided. Over 200 people have been involved including staff, Board, community groups, individuals and the Health through the Marae and whānau.
